2013年度孔子文化奖颁奖辞

中国文化的传播者、阐释者——安乐哲

    他是当代西方著名哲学家、汉学家，中西比较哲学研究的领军人物。他钟情于东方文化，倾心于中国哲学，涵泳于儒道各家，贯通古今中西，举手投足间尽显谦谦君子风范。多年来，他不遗余力地向西方推广中国典籍，翻译了《论语》、《老子》、《中庸》、《孙子兵法》等多部经典，他对中华元典的新诠释、新解读，成就非凡，独步当代，有力推动了中华文化走向世界。他尊重孔子，精通儒学，他将儒学与西方文化进行对等、互动式研究。他深入孔子的思想世界，追本溯源，深剖精析，总结儒家文化特征。他提出“儒家角色伦理学”、“儒家民主主义”等新理论，对儒学做出创造性阐释。他积极探讨中国儒学的现代价值，为谋求多元文化共存互动而努力。他主张会通中西，全面诠释中国哲学的内涵，构建了独到的中西比较哲学方法论体系，消解了以往西方学者对中国哲学的一些误读与隔阂，为中西哲学的互相理解与深层对话开辟了新的道路。他致力于文化的沟通与交流，周游世界，讲学不辍，广泛联合中西方学者展开对话，参与主持世界文明论坛，主讲“中华文化与跨文化传播师资班”，以其个人的学术魅力构架东西文化交流的桥梁。
    他好学深思，真积力久，以其丰富的著述、精深的见解，驰骋学坛，享誉全球，为推动中华文化传播与中西哲学交流做出了卓越贡献。他是中国文化的传播者、阐释者。

2013年度孔子文化奖获奖者安乐哲先生发表获奖感言

今年，世界儒学大会把殊荣独特的孔子文化奖颁发给我，我感到非常荣幸。我们与许多同道，献身于孔子儒学的传统历史与当代价值，对我们来说，没有比这项大奖再高的荣誉。I
am much honored by the World Congress of Confucianism in selecting me for this
singular distinction—the Confucius Culture Award. For the many of us who are
committed to both the historical and the contemporary value of the Confucian
tradition孔子儒學傳統, there is simply no higher award or honor.
在学术圈内，对我们来说，没有比获得同行承认价值更高的礼品了；同时，没有比敏感地意识到，自己有限的奉献，却换来如此巨大的慷慨，使我感到更需要谦卑的了。In
ouracademic world there is no gift greater than the recognition of one’s peers,
and nothing more humbling than one’s own keen awareness that one’s small
contribution is unworthy of such generosity. 
其实，这个大奖不是颁给我一个人的。是儒家思想教导我们的，与人的关系是首位的；我们存在，从根本上说，并非是以个体，而是以与他人不分的关系！Indeed, I
should not accept this award as an individual. But Confucianism itself teaches
us the primacy of relationality; we are not individuals in any final and
discrete sense.
所以，我接受这份殊荣，代表许多人；我个人的生命，也带有他们的生命。他们曾是我的良师益友，他们曾造就我的生命；很多很多年，他们是我本人美好故事的主人。我们每向前走一步，我们之中的每一个，都身处一个与许多其他人不分的场。I
can accept this honor on behalf of the many people with whom I have lived and
whose mentoring and friendships have shaped my life over the many years of my
happy narrative. Each of us brings with us a field of selves when we step
forward. 
首先，他们—我的恩师：刘殿爵、杨有维、劳思光、唐君毅、方东美和葛瑞汉；他们之中的每一个，都曾作出值得这份殊荣的贡献。温故而知新可以为师矣！First there
are my teachers Liu Dianjue劉殿爵, Yang Youwei楊有維, Lao Siguang勞思光, Tang Junyi唐君毅,
Fang Dongmei方東美, and Angus Graham葛瑞漢. The contributions of each one of these
distinguished scholars is deserving of such an honor. 溫故而知新可以為師矣 
我接受这份殊荣，还代表很多世界级的学术同仁与前辈；与他们，我享受非凡情趣的友谊与情感，我自己多年探寻的志同道合。其中已有数位几年前就已经获得这一殊荣：庞朴、汤一介、杜维明和牟钟鉴，还有李学勤；里仁为美，择不处仁，焉得知？And
I can also accept this awardon behalf of the extraordinary relationships I have
enjoyed with my many world-class colleagues and seniors that I have sought out
over the years, several of whom have over the past few years received this same
honor: Pang Pu龐樸, Tang Yijie汤一介, Du Weiming杜維明, and Mu
Zhongjian牟鐘鑒，Lixueqin（李學勤） 里仁為美 ，擇不處仁，焉得知？
我接受这份殊荣，还要代表我满腹才华的学生们。多年来，他们教了我很多。学生的日显头角，也为他们老师赢得成功、自豪和卓越。后生可畏：焉知来者之不如今也！And I
can also accept this honor on behalf of my extraordinary studentsover the years
who have taught me much, and who in distinguishing themselves are bringing great
pride and distinction to their teacher as well. 後生可畏：焉知來者之不如今也.
人是人的关系造就而成，这是孔子哲学一个根本思想。一直以启迪精神的人群同处，这样度过生命的诸多年华，我感到自己有很大福分。想起上世纪六十年代，十八岁的我踏上香港的土地；机会就那样开始：我在这个称作“大中华”的，一些最有声望的学府，先是做好学生，然后做起先生：开始是香港和台湾，后来则是全中国各地的许多大学。A
fundamental precept in Confucian philosophy is that we are constituted by our
relationships. And it has been my good fortune to have lived these many years in
the company of an inspiring community.Since my arrival in Hong Kong in the
mid-sixties at 18 years old, I have had the opportunity to first study and then
later to teach at some of the most prestigious institutions in Greater
China—first in Hong Kong and Taiwan, and then later in many universities around
China.  在中国大学谋面的教授与学生，构成我学术的家庭。人之造就而成，实为“合多而一”，天事人事皆为“一多不分”；这是从儒家哲学我获得的两个深刻启示 –
接受孔子文化奖的殊荣，我要代表的就是这个学术家庭，我是作为它的延续。我自己，将把孔子文化奖视作激励与动力源泉的无穷无尽，持久流淌。将竭尽全力做这个家庭代表，不辜负这份厚重的荣誉。And
the faculty and students at these institutions have become my professional
family. Tothe extent that a personcan be properly described as “many who have
become one,” and to the extent that“the one and the many are inseparable”—two
precepts I draw from Confucian philosophy—I accept this honor with deep
gratitude on behalf of this extended community of people.For me personally, the
Confucius Culture Award willbe a continuing source of encouragement and
aspiration as I try to represent this family and to live up to such an honor.
儒家思想固然是一种古老文化，根基深刻、稳固，但也同时是生气勃勃、充满活力的传统。她召唤我们：投身、贡献！人能弘道，非道弘人。Confucianism is
certainly an antique culture with deep and secure roots, but it is also a
living, vibrant tradition that requires of each of us our full participation and
contribution: 人能弘道非道弘人。
儒家思想发源山东，曲阜为策源地，堪称儒家之“耶路撒冷”圣地。而今天，儒家思想所到之处，其影响、其责任，已延伸至全球，成为整个人类共享的文化资源。我们在当今，须笃行《大学》倡导：修身、齐家、治国、平天下。Confucianism
began in Shandong, and Qufu is indeed the source—we might say the Jerusalem—of
Confucianism. But today the reach,the influence, and indeed the responsibility
of Confucianism has become global as a cultural resource for humanity as a
whole. In our time we need to follow the Daxue’s exhortation to commit ourselves
to the Confucian project of xiushen修身, qijia齊家, zhiguo治國—and ultimately—to
pingtianxia平天下. 
值世界儒学大会开幕之际，在世界承认与拥抱儒家思想国际价值场合，将这份荣誉赋予我，对我，充满深刻意义。我，现生活在一个亟需儒家思想哺育的世界，真诚祝愿：本次大会精心计划的议程，及其在对儒学历史贡献方面，获得圆满成功！It
is significant that this honor is bestowed upon me at the opening ceremony of
the World Congress of Confucianism—a meeting that recognizes and embraces the
international value of Confucianism. And it is for me living in a world that in
our times truly needs Confucianism to wish this august body every success in its
careful deliberations and its historic contribution to Confucian scholarship.
